Q: I'm under the impression that lasers are difficult and expensive to maintain. How reliable is the Odyssey laser?
A: The Odyssey was completely re-designed for greater reliability and serviceability over its predecessor and competition. Under normal operating conditions, the laser should last many years without any mandatory service needs. However, we do recommend a preventive maintenance check-up at 6-12 month intervals depending on the operating environment and frequency of use.
Q: If I'm planning to use the Odyssey in an office-based environment, do I need any special personnel to operate and maintain the Odyssey? What if the laser system stops working?
A: No. The Odyssey can be operated by nurses and clinicians with one hour of training. This is provided during on-site in-service training. If something does go wrong, give us a call and we can send an technician on-site to diagnose and repair the laser system. If you purchased an on-site support contract, the on-site service call is free. Otherwise, you will be billed separately for each on-site service call. The exact cost of the service call depends on your location and whether any parts need to be replaced.
Q: Is the Odyssey available for sale outside of the U.S.
A: Convergent does not sell laser systems directly to customers outside of the U.S. For international inquires, please contact our international sales department at sales@convergentlaser.com
Q: Do I need any special electrical utilities to operate the Odyssey laser?
A: The Odyssey 30 can operate from a U.S. standard 115 V electrical circuit.
